WOW! SO COOL! Momma that is AWESOME!!

Yes it was a hit before it even came out of the box. My 14 year old son, The Gamer, and my 9 year old daughter, The Little Flirt, were fighting over who would get to use it first. The Gamer won out and while he quickly put it together, he was disappointed to find out that it requires a whopping SIX “C” cell batteries in addition to the TWO “AAA” cell batteries that are not included.

One of the first things they noticed was the lack of NERF Darts. “Umm Momma, where are the darts? it’s a NERF gun right?” “Yes sweetie, it has Discs not Darts.” Apparently this was a disappointment to her as she was “hoping to shoot the showerhead in @cdndadonline’s shower.”

I was impressed with how solid it felt when holding it and how much heavier it is with all those batteries in it. It is not something I would want to hold or carry around for a long time.

The Gamer loves the additional magazine option, the ‘laser” scope and the “real life gun” feel of it. The Little Flirt compared it to a Bazooka.

I thought that it would be noisy like other disc shooters that they have had, yet it’s very quiet and rapid fires those bright green discs all over the games room. One even hit The Little Flirt after bouncing off the wall and didn’t even bruise her, which is amazing as she bruises easily.

I did notice a pinch area where the magazines load into the gun base and where the trigger is but that is not something that could be changed as it is simply a fact of life whenever you insert one object into another.

The magazines are easy to load with discs, quick to connect into the base and overall it has a good battery life. Those original “C” cells are still in there. I wasn’t able to count the reloads on the magazine however I’d estimate that they will last well over ten reloads without any lapse in performance.

The plastic is good quality NERF plastic and the paint job is typical NERF and very bright. A full camo paint version would be something to consider as the bright orange and bright green give you away during outside play.

Overall this is a great NERF toy and will get many hours of use. Although NERF is normally marketed towards boys, my daughter is all over this. She asked if there was a pink and purple version with white discs. I normally do not allow guns or war-type toys in my home however I grew up with NERF products and I am absolutely thrilled to be able to share NERF with my own children. I’ve taught my children the difference between a NERF toy and a real gun. Being homestead/farm family, this hasn’t been difficult. Guns are for hunting and protection from animals, NERF toys are for play.

It’s NERF or nothin’!
